Friday Fun

I can't believe it's already October!!  Anyone know what happened to September?!?!  To celebrate the first "Fun Friday" in October I found an awesome painting activity to do with D and S after school today.

I folded and unfolded a piece of white construction paper in half longwise and told D to paint some Fall trees on the top half, but not to do anything on the bottom.  She very carefully and diligently painted her trees with lots of Fall colors.  When she finished we folded the paper again and gently tapped on it.  This caused some of the paint to transfer to the bottom, in the shape of the trees.  Tomorrow when it's really dry we'll lightly color blue on the bottom and have a Fall reflection painting.

As the pictures show she LOVED EVERYTHING about this activity!  When she finished painting she asked to paint another "just normal" Fall picture.  Of course I said yes.  She's really missing the art activities from preschool and is loving a chance to paint and color at home.

S just painted squiggly Fall colors on his paper.  But like D had to fold and pat it!
