Play Me

"Play Me MOMMY!"  I must hear this phrase uttered at least 25 times a day from S.  He loves to play with anyone around.  Some days he can play by himself for a bit and other days this is an impossible task.  Don't get me wrong, I love playing with him (and D) but I also have things to do like laundry, dishes, and prepare meals.

Luckily, today's task for Lens Mama was to photograph kids at play.  Not only to photograph but to put the camera down and play with them.  We had opportunities to play throughout the day.  It's amazing how great photos come out when you engage kids in play.  I was able to catch authentic smiles and see their personalities shine through.  It was also fun to have an "assignment" to play ... the laundry can get done tomorrow!

First thing this morning the kids set up a store.  D had to create a sign to show it was open.

Trains are especially popular toys for S to play with right now.  Today he had a blast driving around the Duplo train.  It holds people and animals, plus they can ride any direction they want!

After school D wanted to decorate some paper to make paper fans.  She made one with rainbows.  I even made one with rainbows and hearts.

The day ended with playful baths for both kids.
S had fun dumping the water from the cups, and most of it stayed IN the tub!

D created a game where she goes fishing for the foam letters using the mesh bag that holds them.  Sometimes she catches letters.  Other times she catches mermaids and fish.
