Quality Control

Image
It seems Santa could use some quality control with his elves.  Christmas morning S excitedly opened his Santa gift of the Spin Storm.  We putt in batteries - not working.  We put in different batteries - not working.  We ran to 7-11 for brand new batteries - not working.  S was disappointed but enjoyed playing with other gifts! Yesterday his engineer uncle took a look at the Spin Storm, tinkered with some switches and now it works!!

Great Wolf Lodge

For Christmas my parents took us to Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg.  We arrived Sunday and came home Wednesday.  To say we had a good time would be an understatement!  The whole experience was magical, fun-filled, and a great way to spend time together! The kids got to build animals.  S chose a bear (Brindley) and S chose a wolf (Violet).  The cool part was the animals came with a scavenger hunt.  You took the animal to a computer terminal and waved its' paw.  The computer gave you clues and a puzzle to solve in order to know where to go next.  Each animal had 2 different hunts you could do.  We did both hunts multiple times on our trip. On Monday morning the kids learned about arctic animals from Wiley wolf.  Then they made an origami wolf.  Of course they also got to meet him! Tuesday night we came to the lobby in our pjs for The Great Clock Tower show where the animatronic animals told a story and sang.  Then we sang 3 Christmas songs.  The last song

Merry Christmas!

I hope you and your family enjoyed a relaxing and very Merry Christmas! We had a great day filled with smiles, laughter, family, and fun!  The morning started with the kids super excited to open the gifts they found under the tree.  We are lucky to have kids who don't get up at the crack of dawn on Christmas morning.  So we headed (i.e. ran) down about 7:45. Santa brought both D and S the gifts they asked for.  D got the Lego Ariel palace.  S got the Spin Storm.  Unfortunately the quality control elves weren't working hard and S's gift doesn't work. Later in the day my parents came over for gifts and an early dinner.  Everyone enjoyed being together and playing with new toys!

Christmas Countdown Day 18

Image
We made simple hot chocolate Christmas ornaments for our neighbors.  First we put some hot chocolate mix into a plastic ball ornament.  Then we added some sprinkles and marshmallows.  Last we included a peppermint spoon to stir with.  We put everything in a little bag and the elves (D and S) delivered them!

Christmas Countdown Day 17

There was a lot of dancing going on at our house before bedtime!  Why?!?!  Because it was a Christmas song dance party!

Christmas Countdown Days 15 and 16

Day 15's activity was to make a Santa beard.  The kids got to cover a cutout with cotton balls.  Of course this resulted in a glue-covered table and fuzz filled kitchen.  Oh well, it was fun!   I'm not sure why the Santas are so mad though! Yesterday B took the kids shopping so our marshmallow snowman craft only was started.  Today we need to add buttons and a face.
