Snow Day 1

Wednesday evening we got less than an inch of snow.  No big deal usually!  This time a huge deal because it's been below freezing and the roads weren't treated at all.  Every flake stuck to the ground creating an evening commute nightmare!  Luckily B was ahead of the snow and made it home easily. However the small snow did cause school to be cancelled on Thursday.  Besides wait on the blizzard (an actual blizzard with 24+ inches of snow and winds) here's what we did on our day off ...

 6:30 - A few minutes of quiet knitting before the kids get up!

7:30 - Muffins and TV


8:30 - Time to draw

 9:30 - Dolls are ready for the snow

10:30 - Shoes on and out the door


 11:30 - Waiting at the doctor (with everyone else) to get S's cough checked.  Nothing wrong just a cough!

12:30 - McDonalds

1:30 - Some coffee to reenergize for the afternoon

2:30 and 3:30 - Movie Time!  Of course the kids couldn't agree on a movie so S watched "Polar Express" upstairs and D watched "Descendants" downstairs.


4:30 - A little pick-me-up for the afternoon!  The natives are getting restless!!!!

5:30 - A dinner of leftovers

6:30 - Bathtime fun!


That's what we do with less than an inch of snow and 1 snow day.  Now we wait to see what we do with a foot or more (probably) of snow and who know how many snow days!

Great Country Farm

Today to celebrate Spring Break we ventured to Great Country Farm.  We went last year at Spring Break also.  The kids had so much fun, when I asked what they wanted to do this year the first thing they said was "Great Country Farm!"  So we packed up the van with kids and grandparents and off we went. Just like last year, the kids had a blast playing on the slides and bouncy pillow.  Like last year I went down a few slides too.  Unlike last year I paid attention to the "12 and under" sign and stayed off of the bouncy pillow!  The kids also fed some goats, bounced on pigs, climbed on a bunch of wooden obstacles, and tried out the rope swing. And of course, no trip is complete without a little gem hunting! Last, but not least the kids rode the cow train.  S was till upset we didn't do this last year.  He definitely enjoyed the ride more than D!

Happy Easter

I hope you and your family had a wonderful, happy Easter!  Ours sure did!!!!   We started the fun on Saturday evening by decorating Easter eggs.  We managed to spill 0 cups of egg dye and I only cracked 3 eggs while boiling them.  As you can see, egg dying is a serious and thought provoking experience in our house. The Easter Bunny left baskets on the table and hid eggs downstairs for the kids on Easter morning.  The baskets had an art book, a book to read, Mad Libs, Tsum Tsums, one small toy, and some chocolate.  We spent the afternoon with family having another egg hunt and dinner.  It was a great way to spend a warm, Easter Sunday!

Here Come the Police!

Like most little boys, S is obsessed with anything that moves, makes noise, and has buttons.  I guess that's why one of his favorite toys right now is a remote control police car he got from my parents.  He drives around, where he wants it to go.  Although he does point the control backwards most of the time so when he pushes the reverse arrow it actually goes forward.  When it drives it makes siren noises.  Plus it has buttons on the car and the remote to push.  What more could a three year old boy want from a toy?!?!?
