Picture Perfect ... Almost!

We have been trying to get to a nearby nature center for the past 2 weeks.  One week traffic was too messed up to go.  Last week the kids did nothing but fight all morning so they lost the trip.  Finally we made it there today.  I have to say I was a bit disappointed though. The kids enjoyed the small indoor center.  It had some turtles, snakes, and frogs to look at.  There was also a small play area (which was a big mess) with some puzzles and dress up clothes.  The kids (and I) decided this area was geared for younger kids. They enjoyed the Nature Playce outside area more.  Here we got to look at a small pond with something living in it.  You could see ripples and bubbles but not the animals themselves.  There was also some sand tables to dig through.  We also took a short hike before having a picnic lunch. It was fun to be outside playing but we left after just over an hour.  Hopefully our next adventure will be better!

The past couple of weeks have been HOT, HOT, and HOT!  So we've had to do a lot of inside activities and spend time at the pool.  We have tried to get outside for at least a few minutes after dinner to run off some energy.  Most times it has consisted of bubbles and chalk with little running since it's still hot!
