Easter Crafts

Image
D and S love to do crafts.  It can be a challenge to help both of them and keep the mess to a minimum, especially for S.  He loves to finger paint with whatever is around and to paint on the table.  To remedy this I get D started and give him some crayons.  Then I stay close by to contain the mess.   Today we painted Easter bunnies and eggs.  The eggs were done with water colors.  For the bunnies we painted using q-tips.  I even got into a few photos! Setting everything up while D finished her snack. Everybody painting together. Getting a chance to help each kid. S working hard on his bunny. D painting her bunny.

What do you do ....

What do you do when it's the 2nd day of Spring Break, your preschooler is out of school, and it's pouring down rain? 1.  Thank your lucky stars it's not snow! 2.  Go the the grocery store because you didn't feel like it yesterday when the weather was 75 and sunny. 3.  Jump in puddles when you get home. What?!?!  You want me to jump in the puddles?   Puddles ... RUN!! Splash! What is it about jumping in puddles that makes everyone happy?  We were all in a terrible mood this morning but after playing in the rain for 30 minutes everyone is smiling and happy.  The simple things in life ...

D found a baby bird in the yard at my parents' house.  The bird was learning to fly.  D decided she would help him learn to fly.  She crouched down beside the bird and showed it how to flap his wings. Then she told the bird to lift it's legs and just flap.  The bird finally was able to take off and fly, hitting D in the cheek with it's wing in the proces.

Fun with Chalk

Another nice day ... another day to play outside!  Today's activity of choice was CHALK!

Too Cool

One of S's favorite things to do is go through my purse looking for something fun to play with ... the iPod, keys, wallet, etc.  Today he found my sunglasses and proudly wore them around.  He didn't care they were upside down and got upset when I tried to fix them for him.

Spring Soccer

Image
D played soccer in the Fall but we weren't sure if she wanted to play again.  In January she asked when soccer started and I said in the spring but didn't ask if she wanted to play.  At the beginning of March we got an email about registration and asked her if she wanted to play.  She gave an excited "YES!  YES!  YES!" The new season started today.  Her team is blue again this year and decided on the name "Giant Strikers."  She is one of three girls on the team and one of five returning players from the fall.  We were really impressed with how much better she played today!  She got right into the action, trying to take the ball from the other team and looking for her teammates to pass the ball too.  She didn't score a goal during the game but came close a couple of times.  There were no tears and LOTS of smiles during and after the game. For the next 9 Sundays (except Easter and Memorial Day weekend) we'...
