H and Y
Our summer fun letters for the week were H and Y. D chose H so she could make a house for a fairy, one of the ideas she helped come up with. S chose Y because it was a letter he could reach! Through out the week we worked on reading and writing some words - he, has, had, you, yes. We also had a ton of fun doing the activities on the cards.
Hike - We went on a "hike" Monday at a new park close by our house. D used this time to find materials for our other H activity. S loved picking up rocks, leaves, and flowers as we walked along. Both kids LOVED throwing rocks into the small stream that goes through the park. I didn't get any pictures of this because the camera battery was dead.
House for a fairy - This was the first thing D said she wanted to do when we were working on our list. We bought a wooden birdhouse and glued on the various items from our hike. She checks at least twice a day to see if a fairy has arrived. So far we haven't had any takers!
Y - On Wednesday we yarn painted, an idea I found on Pinterest. I taped yarn to cheap cookie sheets. The kids then painted the yarn with various colors and pressed white paper on top to make designs. They both enjoyed the activity. D even asked when we could do it again.

Yes Day - Today was our "yes" day where we said yes to as many things as possible. Here are a few things we did.
