Rides!

What's a trip to the beach and boardwalk without time to ride the overpriced kiddie rides?!?!  On Wednesday B and I took the kids to Trimpers Amusements at the end of the boardwalk.  We bought them each a wristband so they could ride until their hearts were content, or until 7:00 whichever came first.  They had a blast!!

 Of course there was a carousel ride.  By the way, it's impossible to take indoor photos of moving children!


Next was whip around ride where both kids were unsure at first.  But they quickly realized it was fun!

Then there was a variety of rides that went in circles ...

 We attempted to ride the bumper cars. S had no idea what he was supposed to do.  D did okay after driving around in a circle for 10 seconds.


Their favorite ride of the day was the frog hop!  S was pretty unsure to start with but quickly discovered this was a great ride.  When you ask either kid what their favorite ride was you get an emphatic "FROGGIE HOP!"

Great Country Farm

Today to celebrate Spring Break we ventured to Great Country Farm.  We went last year at Spring Break also.  The kids had so much fun, when I asked what they wanted to do this year the first thing they said was "Great Country Farm!"  So we packed up the van with kids and grandparents and off we went. Just like last year, the kids had a blast playing on the slides and bouncy pillow.  Like last year I went down a few slides too.  Unlike last year I paid attention to the "12 and under" sign and stayed off of the bouncy pillow!  The kids also fed some goats, bounced on pigs, climbed on a bunch of wooden obstacles, and tried out the rope swing. Slice of Life, Week 1

I just finished week 1 of my new photography class "Slice of Life."  It's taught by Darrah Parker , a photographer I was introduced to in Momtographie.  This course focuses on taking photos of your life, without worrying about perfection!  It's about finding the beauty and details in the ordinary everyday things.  I've been struggling with finding things to photograph so this class should be a great fit for me! This week's theme was what matters to you with a focus on our house.  Here are the photos I took (not all of them) and why they matter to me! My morning coffee is the one part of the day where I can have some time to myself.  In a house of extroverts quiet time is a rare commodity.  But I know when I get up (at 6:00, an hour before everyone else) I'll have a few precious moments of quiet.   This doll furniture is in D's room now.  But for many, many years it was in my own (childhood) bedroom....

Happy Easter

I hope you and your family had a wonderful, happy Easter!  Ours sure did!!!!   We started the fun on Saturday evening by decorating Easter eggs.  We managed to spill 0 cups of egg dye and I only cracked 3 eggs while boiling them.  As you can see, egg dying is a serious and thought provoking experience in our house. The Easter Bunny left baskets on the table and hid eggs downstairs for the kids on Easter morning.  The baskets had an art book, a book to read, Mad Libs, Tsum Tsums, one small toy, and some chocolate.  We spent the afternoon with family having another egg hunt and dinner.  It was a great way to spend a warm, Easter Sunday!
