Spring Break Day 4

D has been asking to have a sleepover with her grandparents since school started in September.  Wednesday night she went to stay with them.  She was gone all day Thursday ... and I missed her!  But it gave me a chance to do some fun things with S.  I decided to say "Yes" to as many things as possible during the day.

 Want a donut at the grocery store?  Want to eat that donut before lunch?  YES!

 Want to watch Chuggington and "The Doggie Movie" (Bolt)? YES!

Want to go to the playground at D's school?  Once at the playground want to go up the ladders and rock then down the slide at least a hundred times leading me around?  YES!
The first thing he said at the playground was "I miss Daphne!"






 Want to come home and do puzzles?  YES!

It was a great relaxing day!

Great Country Farm

Today to celebrate Spring Break we ventured to Great Country Farm.  We went last year at Spring Break also.  The kids had so much fun, when I asked what they wanted to do this year the first thing they said was "Great Country Farm!"  So we packed up the van with kids and grandparents and off we went. Just like last year, the kids had a blast playing on the slides and bouncy pillow.  Like last year I went down a few slides too.  Unlike last year I paid attention to the "12 and under" sign and stayed off of the bouncy pillow!  The kids also fed some goats, bounced on pigs, climbed on a bunch of wooden obstacles, and tried out the rope swing. Slice of Life, Week 1

I just finished week 1 of my new photography class "Slice of Life."  It's taught by Darrah Parker , a photographer I was introduced to in Momtographie.  This course focuses on taking photos of your life, without worrying about perfection!  It's about finding the beauty and details in the ordinary everyday things.  I've been struggling with finding things to photograph so this class should be a great fit for me! This week's theme was what matters to you with a focus on our house.  Here are the photos I took (not all of them) and why they matter to me! My morning coffee is the one part of the day where I can have some time to myself.  In a house of extroverts quiet time is a rare commodity.  But I know when I get up (at 6:00, an hour before everyone else) I'll have a few precious moments of quiet.   This doll furniture is in D's room now.  But for many, many years it was in my own (childhood) bedroom....

Happy Easter

I hope you and your family had a wonderful, happy Easter!  Ours sure did!!!!   We started the fun on Saturday evening by decorating Easter eggs.  We managed to spill 0 cups of egg dye and I only cracked 3 eggs while boiling them.  As you can see, egg dying is a serious and thought provoking experience in our house. The Easter Bunny left baskets on the table and hid eggs downstairs for the kids on Easter morning.  The baskets had an art book, a book to read, Mad Libs, Tsum Tsums, one small toy, and some chocolate.  We spent the afternoon with family having another egg hunt and dinner.  It was a great way to spend a warm, Easter Sunday!
