Summer Just Started
You know you're in for a hot, sticky day when the temperature reported on the news at 6:50 AM is 80 degrees! After hearing that I decided the majority of our day was going to be spent inside. We started out going to the grocery store then to the library. After lunch I let the kids play outside for 1 hour. Everyone showered and changed clothes.
Then we started our project of the day ... a "quilt" of what we've enjoyed so far this summer. Each of the kids (and me) chose 2 activities that have been fun. I printed out a picture of the event and we glued it onto a rectangle piece of construction paper. Then we added a sentence about the activity and any other decorations wanted. Finally, we glued the rectangles onto a larger piece of paper to resemble a quilt. Everyone loved the process and final product! Plus it gave us a chance to think about our summer so far.
