Happy 6th Birthday Big Girl

Yesterday was D's 6th birthday! 
 In the blink of an eye she went from ...

To ...

 We started the day off with donuts, thanks to Grandma and Grandpa.  Then opened a gift from B and I, one from S, and one from Aunt L and family.



Since it was a Thursday (my volunteer day), I got to spend the day with her at school.  It was great to be able to spend her birthday beside her!

She even made it to the next round of the Kindergarten spelling bee!  She spelled tag and dime.

 We took cupcakes to school to celebrate and her class sang to her.

 At home we played the new "Tell Tale, Disney Princesses" story telling game she got from Aunt L, Uncle E, E, and R.  It's a cute game where you choose some cards (all with Disney Princess story elements) then tell your own story with the things on the cards.  D did great!  I had a hard time coming up with good stories though.


 When Daddy got home she opened the rest of her gifts and we had dinner of her choice ... McDonalds!  Nana and Pop-Pop even joined us for dinner.

Of course no birthday is complete without cupcakes.  So when we got home everyone had a cupcake.

Happy 6th Birthday Big Girl!!  We love you more than you'll ever know!!!!

Great Country Farm

Today to celebrate Spring Break we ventured to Great Country Farm.  We went last year at Spring Break also.  The kids had so much fun, when I asked what they wanted to do this year the first thing they said was "Great Country Farm!"  So we packed up the van with kids and grandparents and off we went. Just like last year, the kids had a blast playing on the slides and bouncy pillow.  Like last year I went down a few slides too.  Unlike last year I paid attention to the "12 and under" sign and stayed off of the bouncy pillow!  The kids also fed some goats, bounced on pigs, climbed on a bunch of wooden obstacles, and tried out the rope swing. And of course, no trip is complete without a little gem hunting! Last, but not least the kids rode the cow train.  S was till upset we didn't do this last year.  He definitely enjoyed the ride more than D!

Happy Easter

I hope you and your family had a wonderful, happy Easter!  Ours sure did!!!!   We started the fun on Saturday evening by decorating Easter eggs.  We managed to spill 0 cups of egg dye and I only cracked 3 eggs while boiling them.  As you can see, egg dying is a serious and thought provoking experience in our house. The Easter Bunny left baskets on the table and hid eggs downstairs for the kids on Easter morning.  The baskets had an art book, a book to read, Mad Libs, Tsum Tsums, one small toy, and some chocolate.  We spent the afternoon with family having another egg hunt and dinner.  It was a great way to spend a warm, Easter Sunday!

Here Come the Police!

Like most little boys, S is obsessed with anything that moves, makes noise, and has buttons.  I guess that's why one of his favorite toys right now is a remote control police car he got from my parents.  He drives around, where he wants it to go.  Although he does point the control backwards most of the time so when he pushes the reverse arrow it actually goes forward.  When it drives it makes siren noises.  Plus it has buttons on the car and the remote to push.  What more could a three year old boy want from a toy?!?!?
