Santa Train

About a month ago I saw VRE advertising Santa Train tickets were going on sale.  B and I decided this would be a great thing to try and do with the kids.  They love trains and Santa.  So I jumped online promptly at 9:00 the day of the sale and managed to get us tickets!!  We decided to keep the trip a secret in case the weather turned nasty or we couldn't go for some reason.

This morning D took off our elf countdown and on the back it said "Ride Santa Train."  She looked at me and said, "Is that a real train?"  We then explained how we would be riding on a real train and Santa might be on it.  She was beyond excited.

The train ride was great.  We rode to Alexandria and back to Woodbridge.  There were high school singers, coloring books, hats, and of course a visit from Santa.  Both kids were mesmerized the entire trip and loved it!  D has already asked if we can go again next Christmas.

This was an activity I'm so glad we could share with the kids.  The joy and wonder on their faces the whole ride was priceless.

Pure joy from the moment we stepped onto the train!

Christmas miracle - both kids looking at the camera and smiling!

Blurry but happy

Blurry again but S's expression is great.

D said "Mrs. Clause?!?! I've never seen her before!"
