Is There a Doctor in the House?

The one toy we can always depend on to entertain the kids is their doctor's kit.  D got it for Christmas in 2012.  It gets played with everyday!  Sometimes they are the Mickey characters from Doctor Daisy.  Sometimes D is Doc McStuffins.  Sometimes D is our own pediatrician and S is our favorite nurse.  It's cute to see them use the tools on their patients and repeat back what they've heard doctors say. 

Monday was another gross, rainy day so of course the doctor's kit came out.  D was the doctor and all the Mickey characters were the patients.  I got to talk for the patients to let her know what was wrong.  S helped her diagnose them.  Then she wrote in her "Big Book of Boo-Boos" what was wrong.
Daisy's turn first.  D could use some work of putting the patient on the table.

D learned ducks have internal ears so she had to find the small flap to check Daisy's.

Time to take her temperature under the arm (or wing).

The assistant was playing around and checking his eyes.

They decided it was just a cold but Daisy needed a flu shot.  Be warned EVERYONE gets at shot when they see these 2 doctors!

Great Country Farm

Today to celebrate Spring Break we ventured to Great Country Farm.  We went last year at Spring Break also.  The kids had so much fun, when I asked what they wanted to do this year the first thing they said was "Great Country Farm!"  So we packed up the van with kids and grandparents and off we went. Just like last year, the kids had a blast playing on the slides and bouncy pillow.  Like last year I went down a few slides too.  Unlike last year I paid attention to the "12 and under" sign and stayed off of the bouncy pillow!  The kids also fed some goats, bounced on pigs, climbed on a bunch of wooden obstacles, and tried out the rope swing. And of course, no trip is complete without a little gem hunting! Last, but not least the kids rode the cow train.  S was till upset we didn't do this last year.  He definitely enjoyed the ride more than D!

Happy Easter

I hope you and your family had a wonderful, happy Easter!  Ours sure did!!!!   We started the fun on Saturday evening by decorating Easter eggs.  We managed to spill 0 cups of egg dye and I only cracked 3 eggs while boiling them.  As you can see, egg dying is a serious and thought provoking experience in our house. The Easter Bunny left baskets on the table and hid eggs downstairs for the kids on Easter morning.  The baskets had an art book, a book to read, Mad Libs, Tsum Tsums, one small toy, and some chocolate.  We spent the afternoon with family having another egg hunt and dinner.  It was a great way to spend a warm, Easter Sunday!

Slice of Life, Week 1

I just finished week 1 of my new photography class "Slice of Life."  It's taught by Darrah Parker , a photographer I was introduced to in Momtographie.  This course focuses on taking photos of your life, without worrying about perfection!  It's about finding the beauty and details in the ordinary everyday things.  I've been struggling with finding things to photograph so this class should be a great fit for me! This week's theme was what matters to you with a focus on our house.  Here are the photos I took (not all of them) and why they matter to me!
